over-the top, glamorous and economical

2 glamour | three wishes style

I’m not going to lie… I felt like a diva in this outfit, glamorous in fact. I didn’t even really plan it either, I grabbed this coat on the way out the door. We’ve had an unseasonably strange little cold snap here in Florida and I’m just about ready for it to be over. I wore this outfit for a taping of “44 on the Town,” it’s a talk show that airs on CW44 (my real job). We just got a brand-new set and the show is getting completely revamped. It premieres this Sunday at 11am on CW44 in the Tampa Bay area, if you’re interested.

ALL

Back to the look: Not only did it make me feel chic, but the best part is that the entire outfit (purse not included), probably cost me less than my weekly trip to the grocery store. For example, I got this coat ages ago for $10, I legit still get compliments on it everywhere I go. My skirt is from TJ Maxx and I probably paid less than $20 for it, my turtleneck was $15 at H&M (love this shirt) and my shoes are Sam & Libby for Target, so also super reasonable. Why am I telling you all of this?! Well… mainly because I felt like a million bucks. I chuckled inside as I realized in my head just how reasonably priced this over-the-top outfit really was. It just goes to show, it’s not the amount of money you spend on your clothes but the feeling you get while wearing them. 😉

Btw, this top-knot took me sooooo long to do, no joke.

This outfit required very little thinking when I was putting it together. My only hesitation was not wearing a fitted top with this skirt. I usually always try to wear fitted tops with midi skirts, or any loose-fitting bottom for that matter (lol… loose-fitting bottom sounds so gross), however since the top is cropped and these shoes match almost perfectly I was pleased with how this turned out, simple and fun.

It’s still hot AF here in Florida, I mean record breaking kinda of hot so while the rest of the country can layer this fall, I have to resort to wearing fall colors. More fall looks coming soon!

Hope you’re feeling and looking fabulous wherever you are!! XO

one striped skirt, four ways

1skirt4ways_green

I recently found this skirt at Target for less than $25. I love everything about it, including but not limited to: stripes, white and black, circle skirt, etc. Plus, because of its thick material it maintains its “circle” shape very well.

Since I’ve been kinda slacking at getting outfit pictures put up I wanted to show you guys some of the cute ways you can style this extremely versatile skirt.

As time goes on, I’m hoping to put up similar posts to this, giving you quick and easy styling inspirations. Hope you enjoy!

OUTFIT 1: An American Girl in Paris

This look reminds me of the outfit that Carrie from Sex and the City wore when she moved to Paris in the finale (see pic below). Obviously this look is much more wearable than the one Carrie wore.

OUTFIT 2: A Pattern Mixin’ Lady

You know I love to mix my patterns and this skirt is perfect for doing that. I also love the pink heels for a pop of color. I’m probably going to wear this look soon, so don’t be surprised when you see it again. 😉

OUTFIT 3: A Causal Lady in Heels

I love how chambray instantly dresses down a look, and for a fun contrast I threw in some sparkly earrings and teal heels.

OUTFIT 4: An American Girl in Tampa

I wore this look out last weekend in South Tampa with my lady loves (see pic below). I got lots of compliments and I think the hat really took the look over the top (in a good way).

simple white stripes

white stripes | three wishes style

Wearing two of my favorite things… stripes and white & black… I guess that’s actually three things but oh well. The really love the simplicity of this plain white tee. I’ve been trying to avoid t-shirts lately because I was wearing them too much and they were losing their appeal, but now they’re like new again. Tees are such a great way to bring a causal contrast to any outfit. Although you can still dress up the look with a blazer or jacket, like I did below.

The wind was not cooperating today resulting in my some really great hair photos! 😉

outfit of the day: a few of my favorite things

neon + stripes | three wishes style“When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad… I simply remember my favorite things…. (like stripes, neon and vintage inspired necklaces) and then I don’t feeeeeeeel sooooo bad.” I told you yesterday how much I love this time of year. I also love musicals and I’m pretty pumped about “The Sound of Music” TV special with Carrie Underwood. “The hillllllls are alive….”

I’m sorry, I’ll stop. But all those promos have me singing like a fool. I apologize for my nerdy-ness. Did I ever mention I was in chorus in high school? (I’m just racking up the cool points right now.)

Anyway… I’m still on a shopping hiatus, but I did have a minor slip up and bought a cute “T” midi-ring. It was only $8 and it’s really freaking cute. It’s hard teaching an old dog new tricks, not that I’m calling myself a dog… or maybe I am… I don’t know, but my hiatus is back on and I’m trying to be creative. Hope you’re enjoying!

chambray & stripes | three wishes style

This skirt is one of my new favorites, it fits like a glove and can practically be worn with anything. I decided to pair it with some other items that go with practically everything –chambray and these nude ankle strap heels! This outfit came together so easily… I topped off the look with a simple necklace, this great structured bag and a pop of color on my lip –as usual.
