over-the top, glamorous and economical

2 glamour | three wishes style

I’m not going to lie… I felt like a diva in this outfit, glamorous in fact. I didn’t even really plan it either, I grabbed this coat on the way out the door. We’ve had an unseasonably strange little cold snap here in Florida and I’m just about ready for it to be over. I wore this outfit for a taping of “44 on the Town,” it’s a talk show that airs on CW44 (my real job). We just got a brand-new set and the show is getting completely revamped. It premieres this Sunday at 11am on CW44 in the Tampa Bay area, if you’re interested.

ALL

Back to the look: Not only did it make me feel chic, but the best part is that the entire outfit (purse not included), probably cost me less than my weekly trip to the grocery store. For example, I got this coat ages ago for $10, I legit still get compliments on it everywhere I go. My skirt is from TJ Maxx and I probably paid less than $20 for it, my turtleneck was $15 at H&M (love this shirt) and my shoes are Sam & Libby for Target, so also super reasonable. Why am I telling you all of this?! Well… mainly because I felt like a million bucks. I chuckled inside as I realized in my head just how reasonably priced this over-the-top outfit really was. It just goes to show, it’s not the amount of money you spend on your clothes but the feeling you get while wearing them. ūüėČ

Btw, this top-knot took me sooooo long to do, no joke.

modern day sock hop

5ponies and midi | three wishes style

While wearing this outfit, I was told that all I looked like I was going to a sock hop. I didn’t realize at the time but now seeing the pictures, this outfit definitely has a slightly retro feel. All I am missing are frilly socks and black and white oxfords.

Hope you’re having a good week!

back to basics

black midi skirt | three wishes style

My style has been all over the spectrum this past week or so. This look is “back to basics” for me, a skirt, a blouse and a great pair of heels. It’s one of the easiest outfits to put together, but it still makes me feel fancy.

Happy HUMP day!!

new york in tampa

NY tee + midi skirt | three wishes style

I used to have big dreams to move to New York City. I always wanted to live the Carrie Bradshaw lifestyle (what girl doesn’t?). I used to dream about the day I would be able throw on my stylish outfits, wander through the streets of NYC, shop in cute boutiques, peruse the museums and of course search for my Mr. Big.

Fortunately and unfortunately this is not my life… I already have my Mr. Big and I can wear all my stylish outfits right here on the streets of Tampa… plus I don’t have to deal with snow or crazy cab drivers. And let’s face it, if I had to walk everywhere I would NEVER wear heels.

So for now… I’ll just wear New York tees, continue to watch Sex and the City on DVD and call it a day!

midi skirt #6

1cream midi skirt | three wishes style

I’ve been working on getting my posts up earlier in the day, but I’ve been really busy.

Lately I’m having a thang with midi skirts, this is number 6. They make me feel so ladylike, plus when done right they instantly make me feel fashionable (even if men don’t understand them.)

Happy HUMP Day!!!

let’s get lost…

JOA Midi | three wishes style

My midi skirt covers up the last two words on this shirt… “in love.” Getting lost in love sounds fantastic, getting lost in general gives me major anxiety.

I still love midi skirts, this one has so much fabric that I feel like I could potentially get lost in it. I have twirled around at least seven times in this skirt so far. Something about a full skirt brings out the 6-year-old girl in me.

Happy Tuesday loves! Let’s all find our way together.

librarian chic

midi + blazer | three wishes styleGeez, I’m so sick of pants lately. I go to my closet and instantly get frustrated because it’s “winter” and I’m supposed to be wearing pants, but I’m sooooo bored with them. So this was my attempt at a winter skirt outfit. Luckily it was pretty warm during the day and I was able to take my jacket off for some of the pictures.

I have a rule about midi skirts and that you can’t be too covered up, hence the title of this post. The reasoning being midi skirts already have a lot of fabric and the look can go down the librarian/schoolmarm route if you’re not careful. However, I think this look turned out quite well. No librarian I know wears not pink heels. ūüėČ
